ABOUT THE PROJECT

To ensure all girls and boys from disadvantaged families have access to quality education from pre-primary to senior secondary levels and are enabled to make informed career choices.

To ensure all adolescent girls, adolescent boys, young women and young men from disadvantaged families make informed decisions and choices on their health, and well-being and have improved access to quality health care services provided by the government. To ensure children, adolescent girls and young women from disadvantaged families are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect along with the gender dynamics that drive it.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Technical Support and Guidance

Provide necessary information and guidance on legal aid, guidance and referral to girls and young women when required to ensure their access to law, justice and to their entitlements from Government Welfare Schemes.
Network with the relevant authorities for legal information, clarification and referral support to girls and young women in need and establish partnerships as required.
Work with the Legal Aid service providers, relevant authorities under the state & national government; exchange and collaborate, seek assistance on service delivery, training and consultations.
Keep regular touch with the field team (SBVM) who are engaged in providing on the ground training on Legal Literacy to Girls & YW.
Help field team in their planning, organizing, providing material support, technical guidance towards smooth implementation of the field level trainings.
Create enabling environment for girls and young women by raising awareness of community groups (e.g. Legal Literacy Mitras) on Legal Literacy/ aid, the rights of girls, women, children so that they can access their entitlements when needed.
Extend necessary support to Sr. Manager CCCD & GBV for planning, review and monitoring of the activities under Legal Literacy and Awareness.
Work together with PD, Communication Team on design, conceptualization of innovative, contextually relevant training and IEC materials and resources. Organise regular review meetings and capacity building sessions with the field staff, provide them necessary direction, guidance and support on next steps. Document evidence, case stories and important learnings from project implementation.
Conceptualise training module on identification of gender and sexual violence and legal literacy and awareness audio visual capsules.

Influencing and Advocacy

Explore and promote relationships with key Government authorities, judiciary, legal aid cells at the state district and local level and with other stakeholders.
Organise legal aid camps and survivor centric moot workshops leveraging resources from the concerned stakeholders.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Develop the detail project implementation plan and M& E framework to track project implementation and to measure progress.
Organize regular review meetings with the SBVM, document progress, challenges and share with Manager.
Maintain reporting and documentation requirements as per the need of the project.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master’s degree in Law (LLM/LLB), Social Work, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
5–7 years of relevant experience in legal aid, gender, child protection, GBV, legal literacy, or rights-based programmes, preferably in the development sector.
Experience in designing and facilitating training programmes, developing IEC materials, and building the capacity of field teams.
Experience in collaborating with government departments, legal aid institutions, judiciary, and other key stakeholders.
Experience in project planning, monitoring, documentation, reporting, and advocacy initiatives.

COMPETENCIES

Strong knowledge of legal literacy, women’s and child rights, gender, and safeguarding frameworks.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, networking, and advocacy skills with government departments, legal institutions, and civil society organizations.
Strong training, facilitation, capacity-building, and mentoring skills.
Good planning, monitoring, documentation, and report writing abilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills with proficiency in MS Office.
