SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

To raise funds from major individual donors for Plan India’s child centred community development initiatives. The position is part of the Resource Mobilisation team and shares the responsibility of achieving the business plan targets of the team

KEY FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILIES

  • Achieve an annual target of 60 lakhs through contributions from Major donors
  • Review existing products and create new products to tap contributions from major donors
  • To develop the strategy and manage the major donor program at Plan India in order to create a portfolio of committed individuals who are willing to provide ongoing support
  • To proactively identify, cultivate and secure high value, long term relationships with new potential partners and major donors within our key funding areas
  • To manage and build excellent relationships with donors to ensure all opportunities are maximized
  • To meet and exceed challenging team income targets from new donors prospects/databases
  • Ensure appropriate and timely donor servicing- Post fulfillment (Receipt of financial commitments (gift acknowledgement, ensuring the implementation of donor recognition activities, to accompany donors on project visits and / or attend events)

Person Specifications:

Experience:

  • Post graduate in the relevant field with experience in Key Account Management in durable/ financial/ banking/ insurance industry and a demonstrable track record of skillfully securing and managing major donors/ individuals with high disposable income
  • Financial and commercial acumen to identify, develop and deliver new partnerships and maximize existing ones

Skills:

  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally and work with HNIs
  • Excellent communication skills including strong presentation skills, written communication, ability to produce emotive and effective proposals, reports, presentations

ABOUT PROJECT

Project Samarth is a Digital Literacy project for adolescent and young girls. The project aims to empower and improve the quality of life of young and adolescent girls by imparting them digital literacy to bridge the digital divide. Through the project, adolescent and young girls will be mobilized and trained. The project will set up 6 Digital Literacy centres, three centres in schools and three in communities. The project also aims to support girls out of school to re-enrol into school or apply for open school 10th exam. Along with Digital Literacy skills, the girls will be oriented on gender & life skills through the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate planning and implementation of Project Activities in community and schools;
  • Coordinate and ensure mobilization of youth to enrol into the centres in schools and communities;
  • Support the project team in developing/revising the curriculum for Digital Literacy;
  • Monitor quality of sessions to girls on Digital Literacy as per the curriculum, and learning assessments in the school based and community based Digital Literacy Centres;
  • Coordinate periodic meetings with Head teacher, teachers in the schools/community based center coordinators as relevant to project implementation;
  • Monitor and coordinate mobilization of out of school girls for re enrolment into schools or open school – NIOS;
  • Conduct quarterly sessions on gender and life skills to the girls enrolled into the project;
  • Maintain MIS, database, regular assessment reports of all the girls enrolled in the programme;
  • Support in planning awareness sessions in the communities on Digital literacy importance to parents, community leaders etc.;

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Plan India is going to implement a project with the aim to increase the demand for, distribution and uptake of COVID-19 vaccination, particularly for the vulnerable and marginalized populations in 9 Districts of Odisha. The proposed intervention will focus on augmenting the Government’s COVID-19 vaccination program with the objective to reduce vaccine hesitancy and increase demand for vaccine and strengthen the last mile connectivity. Four pronged approach to be adopted i.e. 1) awareness generation; 2) community engagement; 3) Strengthening service delivery and 4) innovation in last mile delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  • HR nodal point for both Odisha and Jharkhand state;

PURPOSE

Plan India has received a grant from UNFPA, India to implement a project on SRHR “Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Rights of Young Dalits towards Diversifying, Integrating and Strengthening Institutional Systems”. The pilot project was initiated in the aspirational district of Sheikhpura to demonstrate the working models on generating demand for FP from a rights perspective for the young Dalit population, and innovate solutions to cater to the increased demand.

In the due course the gender and migration project “Addressing gender based vulnerabilities in Migration through institutional strengthening of Panchayats “  was also awarded in the third quarter of 2020 and since then the project is successfully being implemented in Sheikhpura district.

Presently Plan India is implementing the following 2 projects in Bihar, with grant support of UNFPA

  1. “Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Rights of Young Dalits towards Diversifying, Integrating and Strengthening Institutional Systems”,
  2. “Addressing gender based vulnerabilities in Migration through institutional strengthening of Panchayats.

Dimensions of Role

  • Overall Management of the existing UNFPA supported grant projects in Bihar, and any additional grant projects being supported by UNFPA in the coming time;
  • Managing programmatic relationship with donor to ensure donor compliances as agreed in FAD;
  • Nodal point for Project related engagement with Resource Mobilization team and project’s sharing with senior management, Plan India;
  • To ensure that UNFPA supported grant projects meet Plan’s corporate standards in the operations and implementation of the project;
  • Ensuring the liaisoning with the State and district departments of Health and Family Welfare in Bihar;
  • Ensure policy compliance as per Plan India’s standards;
  • Documentation of best practices from the projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

  • To prepare the Annual Plan of action, budget outlay, fund forecast, and fund flow of the approved projects, preparing the Project Outline ( PO) of the project, and maintain them as per the systemic requirements;
  • Ensure the quality implementation of the project in a timely manner and as per the Plan’s corporate standards;
  • To ensure the partner management of the NGO partner engaged in the project, which includes the overall management of the Project implementation by the partner, ensuring timely funds are disbursed to the partner, funds being timely and effective utilized with quality implementation, ensuring the project reporting being ensured and per the agreement clauses, Monitoring of the field implementation by the partner;
  • To Provide overall technical and operational support to the project under implementation;
  • To ensure the Supportive supervision of the Project team involved for the Implementation of the project;
  • To facilitate the capacity building and knowledge based support to the project implementation team to enhance their skills and understanding to contribute effectively;
  • Ensure the program and financial quality, fund forecast, and Work Plan Progress report are timely submitted to the donor. Also, adhere to other reporting requirements as per the donor requirement;
  • To support the grant team, in complying with the donor’s agreements requirements related to partnership, implementation, reporting, and any other statutory requirement;
  • To anchor and facilitate the annual and half-yearly review meetings of the project for providing technical guidance and review in-line with annual plans and M&E indicators and outputs;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Graduation in Social Work or public health domain;
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in project coordination, project management, or consulting preferably with NGOs working with international development organizations, of which should be at a managerial level managing large projects to successful completion;
  • Previous experience in managing a team;
  • Have command in managing Programmes with the capability of training and development of staff;
  • Hands on experience of independently monitoring, managing, and reporting the project initiatives;
