About Plan India Impact Awards

The Plan India Impact Awards were envisioned to recognise the last-mile champions, motivate them to continue their life-changing work, and reinforce and replicate their best practices for enhanced programme delivery and sustainable development across the country. Instituted in 2017, Plan India Impact Awards are now an annual recognition of the positive contribution of frontline workers, changemakers, and community volunteers.

Over the course of four editions, we have received more than 2000 noteworthy nominations. This year, we received over 581 remarkable applications from selfess changemakers at the forefront of driving social change.

Plan India Impact Awards 2022

The Plan India Impact Awards 2022, which built on the success of previous iterations, reinforced key learnings and increased participation from all over the nation to honor community frontline workers, youth, and volunteers who promote, uptake, and deliver desperately needed services at the village, district, state, and federal levels.

Given the COVID -19 scenario and the rapid digitalization, the entire nomination procedure and review were conducted digitally. The award ceremony was held in a hybrid mode at The Park Hotel, New Delhi.

This year, Plan India Introduced 8 categories for nominations across diferent thematic areas, along with the addition of a Special Award – Digital Champion for Girl’s Rights. A winner from each of the 8 categories was awarded a sum of INR 50,000. Under the Special Award – Digital Champion for Girls’ Rights, the Golden Wings Winner was awarded a cash prize of INR 1 Lakh, and the Silver Wings Winner was awarded a cash prize of INR 50,000.

In the spirit of recognizing the contributions of all last-mile champions, the Awards exceeded Plan India’s intervention areas to involve expert Civil Society Organisations working on various verticals and themes and contributing to the national development agenda.

The Awards also benefited from strategic partnerships with several notable organizations and entities committed to advancing the development agenda. These include the Women’s Web and The Good Sight.

To facilitate the proceedings of the Plan India Impact Awards with necessary robustness, scale, transparency, and knowledge, process partner CSRBOX was on-boarded this year for end-to-end execution of the Awards. This included developing an Awards framework, creating online nomination dashboards, leading the outreach for receiving nominations, and setting up the entire evaluation and selection process.

Generating a long-lasting impact on the community and the changes they have brought about in the community.


Focusing on the ability of the nominee to identify quality and innovative ideas to mitigate the programmatic challenges in addressing a social issue and the steps taken to promote inclusion.
