SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

The position is primarily responsible for raising funds from Corporates and HNIs via grants, events and campaigns. The person is also responsible for relationship management with existing donors. The person is responsible for donor acquisition, donor servicing, grant reporting and support program staff in the development and writing of proposals in line with Country Strategic Plan (CSP). The role also requires designing fundraising strategies and implement the same in the assigned geography to enable the organizational income targets. The position is also responsible for tracking the progress of programmes in coordination with the Program implementation team and submission of quality donor reports and timely updates.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fund Raising

  • Stay up-to-date on CSR market space of the assigned geography.
  • To ideate and implement the fundraising strategy for the assigned geography and develop innovative methods to take Plan India’s vision and interventions to maximum target audiences.
  • To Meet CSR/HR/CXO’s of various corporate organizations in the assigned geography and set high standards of presentation for the case for partnership with Plan India through various offerings of the organization like CSR projects, Events, Campaigns, etc.
  • To provide effective end-to-end relationship management and lead all communications to the prospective clients/partners.
  • To provide timely resolution of queries, explaining the organization’s strategy and activities to the prospective partners.
  • To create and collate pitch presentations, concept notes, success stories, audios/videos etc. for showcasing Plan India’s vision, interventions and success.
  • To maintain a thorough MIS of data base of prospects, pipeline, closures and realizations in the financial year.
  • Develop a strong market presence for Plan India among the target section of corporates and HNIs.
  • Coordinate and work with other departments in Plan India to develop concept notes and work closely in identifying opportunities to raise funds.

DONOR SERVICING

  • To be the first point of contact for all communication to the existing donors
  • To provide timely resolution of queries raised by donors.
  • To coordinate with specified programme implementation & Finance teams on quality and timely reporting (as per donor requirements/regulations)
  • To review and ensure timely submission of donor reports, updates, success stories, photos, videos etc.
  • To ensure timely, accurate and effective donor servicing in terms of the standard processes.
  • To facilitate donor visits, audit visits to the projects.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT

  • To participate in the process of conceptualizing and writing proposals and provide donor perspective and clarify donor requirements internally in Plan India.
  • To ensure timely development of proposals and concept notes as per donor requirements in coordination with the programme team
  • To constantly follow up and coordinate with the respective state teams and functional heads for their inputs and approval on the proposal and budget revisions, if any
  • To finalise budgets in discussion with the Programme Implementation and Finance teams for proposals
  • To finalize the proposal in line with the donor requirements and specifications.
  • To track progress of proposal/ concept note sent to the potential donor.

PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS

  • To facilitate all processes of entering into partnership with the donors.
  • To review the grant agreements to ensure compliance to Plan India’s procedures, system and ethical guidelines issues (incl. the CP policy).
  • To manage the grant agreements in terms of progress, updates and tracking , reporting expenditures etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Any graduate, MBA will be added advantage.
  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

The position is primarily responsible for raising funds from Institutional donors, and support grants and program staff in the development and writing of proposals in line with donor requirement and Plan India’s Country Strategic Plan (CSP). The role also requires circulating new grants opportunities within the organization and facilitate go-no-go decision making processes with senior management team. The position is also responsible for networking with grant donors and potential consortium partners to build new partnerships.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Grants Acquisition Manager will lead the development of high quality grant proposals for donors such as government agencies, multilateral and bilateral institutions, and major foundations to support Plan India’s overseas grants and Institutional fundraising strategy.
  • Research, analyse, develop, and track relationships with new and current prospects for proposals and produce reports, capability statements, agreements, etc. for their development and management.
  • Lead, collaborate, and participate in the entire grant proposal development process, including conceptualization, performing research, producing compelling content, making revisions, submission and follow-ups.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, testing new approaches and recommending best practice strategies under institutional fundraising.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in high value proposal writing to national and international donors. Familiarity with concepts of results and outcome framework like Result Based Management (RBM), Log frame, Analysis, Resource Based Planning and Project budgeting etc
  • Submission follow-up to ensure lessons learnt are carried forward to future submissions.
  • Proactively search for and follow up on new grant opportunities
  • Manage funding acquisition information including grant tracker and project profiles
  • Assist in tracking and mapping Private Public Partnerships, undertaking Donor Mapping to identify future partners/donors.

  • Education: Masters in Social Studies / MSW / MBA
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving the annual content plan in line with the marketing and communications strategy 2020
  • Conceptualise, research, curate and develop diverse, engaging and effective written and visual communications products
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholder’s such as Plan India staff and partner NGOs for sourcing of content and data for products such as annual report, newsletter, website etc.
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders such as creative agency, filmmakers, documentation experts and consultants etc, for production of high-quality content creation including success stories, human interest stories, photo essays, project documentation, audio-visuals, etc.
  • Facilitate editing, translation, printing and dissemination of communication material among internal and external stakeholders
  • Capture, process and share production-quality photographs and video as required to support communications materials
  • Analyse data and feedback to track and measure the impact of our communications and activities and recommend improvements

Brand

  • Contribute to strengthened brand positioning and visibility across engagement platforms
  • Coordinate the internal brand audit processes
  • Coordinate external brand audit processes
  • Review documents and creatives from brand compliance perspective ensuring Plan India staff and partner organisations are adhering to Plan India’s brand guidelines
  • Ensure all publications and collateral meet Plan India’s brand guidelines
  • Ensure brand updates are shared with Plan India staff on a timely basis
  • Organise brand training sessions with Plan India staff and partner organisations

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Communications/Journalism/English Literature
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working in the development sector with focus on child and gender rights
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills is highly desirable
  • Possessing journalistic skills will be an added advantage
  • An excellent command of both written and spoken English. Fluency in Hindi will be an advantage. Additional knowledge of other Indian languages will be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Powerpoint and MS Publisher is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with high levels of cultural and gender sensitivity
  • Ability to meet deadlines and fulfil urgent requests when needed
  • Strong character traits including self-motivation, emotional adaptability, honesty and willingness to travel are essential
