SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

To raise funds from major individual donors for Plan India’s child centred community development initiatives. The position is part of the Resource Mobilisation team and shares the responsibility of achieving the business plan targets of the team

KEY FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILIES

  • Achieve an annual target of 60 lakhs through contributions from Major donors
  • Review existing products and create new products to tap contributions from major donors
  • To develop the strategy and manage the major donor program at Plan India in order to create a portfolio of committed individuals who are willing to provide ongoing support
  • To proactively identify, cultivate and secure high value, long term relationships with new potential partners and major donors within our key funding areas
  • To manage and build excellent relationships with donors to ensure all opportunities are maximized
  • To meet and exceed challenging team income targets from new donors prospects/databases
  • Ensure appropriate and timely donor servicing- Post fulfillment (Receipt of financial commitments (gift acknowledgement, ensuring the implementation of donor recognition activities, to accompany donors on project visits and / or attend events)
  • To prepare accurate reports on donor relationships for key stakeholders
  • To undertake any other activities in line with responsibilities of the post

Person Specifications:

Experience:

  • Post graduate in the relevant field with experience in Key Account Management in durable/ financial/ banking/ insurance industry and a demonstrable track record of skillfully securing and managing major donors/ individuals with high disposable income
  • Financial and commercial acumen to identify, develop and deliver new partnerships and maximize existing ones

Skills:

  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally and work with HNIs
  • Excellent communication skills including strong presentation skills, written communication, ability to produce emotive and effective proposals, reports, presentations
  • Ability to apply good judgment and assess new opportunities
  • Drive, enthusiasm and determination to deliver challenging team targets
  • A flexible approach and willingness to work on different areas of fundraising
  • Reporting to Director, must be self driven with ability to work well on own initiative
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulations around gifting, donations and data protection
  • Be very comfortable with cold calling and generating funds

Travel Requirements: 30-40%

The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India’s Child Safeguarding Gender Equality Policies.

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

The position is primarily responsible to support Manager- International Grants in donor compliance management and supporting fundraising from multiple sources. The grants coordinator will also ensure that grants data and files are up to date and proper follow-up and coordination is done with Program implementation, Finance and other respective teams, for submission of quality donor reports on timely basis and donor queries.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

GRANT AGREEMENT DOCUMENTATION

  • Prepare the Funding Agreement Document (FAD) and get it validated by Senior Manager/ Manager Grants
  • FAD management on Plan systems, including Grants MIS and regular coordination with finance department for updating the same
  • Set up FAD for signatures ensuring timeliness and quality.
  • Monitor FAD requirements until its closure, complete post closure activities and provide related information to relevant departments in the organization
  • Manage the relevant FAD files and keep them up-to-date
  • Prepare updates/briefs on grants; organizing, filtering and analysing relevant grant information for sharing with Senior Management
  • To manage the grant agreements for the corporate and Institutional partners in terms of seeking extensions or tracking under-spending

DONOR REPORTING

  • Coordinate donor visits with programme teams
  • Coordinate with other teams and respond to all Donor queries on FAD and narrative and financial reports
  • Review and ensure quality Donor program and financial Reports
  • To create and update the prospect trackers, monthly proposal trackers, and weekly meeting calendars and submit to the Manager

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT

  • To support Manager – International Grants in the process of proposal development
  • To constantly follow up and coordinate with the respective state teams and functional heads for their inputs and approval on the proposal and budget revisions, if any
  • To coordinate with the Programme Implementation and Finance teams for proposals and budgets
  • To maintain proposal/ concept note bank that was sent to various donors

DONOR SERVICING

  • To support Manager- International Grants to provide timely resolution of queries raised by Institutional/Foundation donors
  • To coordinate with specified state programme teams on quality and timely reporting (as per donor requirements/ regulations)
  • To coordinate for timely submission of donor program and financial reports to all the institutional donors and NO teams, as required
  • To ensure timely, accurate and effective donor servicing in terms of the standard processes, such timely dispatch of donor receipts, tax certificates, sharing the annual reports, etc.
  • Any other work as assigned by the Line Manager

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:MA Sociology, MSW , MBA

Experience:overall 7 years ’ experience in grants management

Other Required Skills

  • Have done hands on grants management of contracts of corporate and large institutional donors such as USAID, EC
  • Have prior experience of grants documentation and coordination
  • Have flair of MIS preparation and data management with good working knowledge of MS excel
  • Have a flair for fundraising, marketing and donor engagement
  • Prior experience in developing concept ideas and proposals for initiating conversation with prospective donors
  • Basic understanding of child rights programming, including program management, and grants proposal development and management.
  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally

The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India’s Child Protection & Gender Equality Policies.

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB

The position is primarily responsible for supporting the Sr. Manager – Corporate Partnerships in fundraising and prospecting new clients for both private and public sector companies in India for the assigned geography and for specific NO corporate accounts. The position is also responsible for meeting the CSR/ HR Heads at various corporates to make pitch presentations, creating customized proposals, key account management of existing corporate donors, as well as for donor servicing, query resolution and grant reporting.

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES

STRATEGY FOR CORPORATE FUNDRAISING

  • To support the development of a long-term strategy for ensuring sustainable processes for corporate fundraising in the assigned region
  • To implement the strategy to meet the fundraising targets for the assigned geography

DONOR PROSPECTING & ACQUISITION

  • To set up and hold meetings with the senior management teams (such as HR head, CSR head, Marketing head and Head of Corporate Affairs) of potential corporate organizations to explain Plan India’s focus thematic areas and showcase the work currently being done at the grassroots
  • To explain various avenues, ideas and opportunities to explore mutual areas of interests with potential corporates
  • To regularly interact and coordinate with the counterparts in NOs for programme funding from international corporates
  • To support the Sr. Manager in representing Plan India in different corporate forums and events, CSR seminars and conferences, nationally and internationally, to network and with prospective corporates and improve the visibility of the organization
  • To handhold the Regional/State Managers in the Programme Team in the donor prospecting and acquisition process in the particular Region/State
  • Create and update the prospect trackers, monthly proposal trackers, and
  • weekly meeting calendars and submit to the Sr. Manager

DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

  • To coordinate with the Programme Implementation team to obtain inputs on current programmes, case studies, etc. that can be incorporated in the pitch presentations
  • To create pitch presentations, case studies, and audios/videos for showcasing existing interventions
  • To brainstorm with the team to develop products for corporate fundraising, such as payroll giving and co-branding initiatives

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT

  • To ensure the timely development of proposals and concept notes as per donor requirements in coordination with the programme team
  • To participate in the process of conceptualizing and writing proposals and provide donor perspective and clarify donor requirements
  • To finalize the proposal to be sent to the donor after incorporating all the feedback received from the Sr. Manager – Corporate Partnerships

KEY ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & RETENTION

  • To extensively communicate with the Programme Implementation team to obtain programme information and updates
  • To conduct regular meeting with donors to provide them programme updates and current programme status
  • To ensure regular interaction with the National Office team to share programme updates and exchange information regarding events, activities and new partnerships
  • To encourage donors to conduct programme visits for getting first-hand experience and information regarding the programmes being implemented by Plan India and their impact
  • To review the itinerary for field visits and accompany the donors on these field visits
  • To ensure effective key account management to enhance donor retention and receive grant extensions

DONOR SERVICING

  • To provide timely resolution of queries raised by corporate donors
  • To review and ensure timely submission of donor reports to all the corporate donors
  • To ensure timely, accurate and effective donor servicing in terms of the standard processes,such timely dispatch of donor receipts, tax certificates, sharing the annual reports, etc.

DONOR PIPELINE

  • To maintain an active pipeline of prospective corporate partners to meet Fundraising targets for Corporate partnerships as per the mandate (twice the fundraising target)
  • To maintain a pipeline for closures and realizations in the financial year comprising both new and existing corporate partners

PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENTS

  • To provide inputs for the creation of grant agreements/contract with the corporate partners to ensure they meet donor requirements
  • To review the grant agreements to ensure compliance to Plan India’s procedures, system and ethical guidelines issues (incl. the CP policy)
  • To manage the grant agreements for corporate partners in terms of seeking extensions or tracking under-spends

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Graduation; MBA (preferred)
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25%
