ABOUT THE PROJECT
To ensure all girls and boys from disadvantaged families have access to quality education from pre-primary to senior secondary levels and are enabled to make informed career choices.
To ensure all adolescent girls, adolescent boys, young women and young men from disadvantaged families make informed decisions and choices on their health, and well-being and have improved access to quality health care services provided by the government. To ensure children, adolescent girls and young women from disadvantaged families are protected from all forms of violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect along with the gender dynamics that drive it.
KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and implement legal literacy, gender equality, child protection and entitlement-related activities in accordance with project work plans.
- Mobilise adolescents, young people and families; facilitate community sessions, home visits, campaigns on legal rights, GBV, child rights and government schemes.
- Support identification and mentoring of Legal Literacy Mitras (LLMs) and strengthen community-based protection mechanisms.
- Facilitate referrals and linkages to protection services and government departments, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to safeguarding principles.
- Support eligible beneficiaries in accessing government schemes, social protection services and essential documentation.
- Build partnerships with government departments, legal institutions and community stakeholders to strengthen convergence.
- Conduct assessments, maintain beneficiary records and MIS, and prepare timely reports, case studies and programme documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, gender equality and organisational policies while undertaking any other responsibilities assigned by the Line Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Law, Sociology, Rural Development, Community Development or a related discipline. Candidates should have 2–3 years of relevant experience in community mobilisation, legal literacy, gender, child protection or entitlement programmes.
- Experience in working with community institutions, government departments, and local stakeholders is preferred.
- Experience in data collection, documentation, reporting, and beneficiary tracking.
- Knowledge of child rights, safeguarding, sponsorship programmes, and community development approaches will be an added advantage.
COMPETENCIES
- Strong community mobilization, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and relationship management abilities.
- Ability to implement, monitor, and document community-based programmes effectively.
- Strong planning, organizational, and report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to maintain project records and documentation.
