POSITION OVERVIEW
It includes performing diagnostic imaging examinations like X-rays through hand-held X-ray machine, and ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures. Radiographer has to collaborate with OSC team, stakeholders and physicians to provide diagnostic information, manage patient records, and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform imaging procedures:Conduct tests like chest X-rays to create high-quality diagnostic images.
• Ensure patient safety: Positively interact with patients, explaining procedures, ensuring their comfort, and implementing radiation protection measures for both patients and staff.
• Operate equipment: Use and maintain sophisticated imaging equipment (hand-held X-ray machine).
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals: Work closely with OSC team and other doctors to provide accurate information for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain records: Keep accurate and detailed records of imaging results and patient information.
• Adhere to safety protocols: Ensure strict adherence to safety and radiation protection standards.
• Manage administrative tasks: Handle administrative duties, including scheduling, patient consent, and maintaining examination equipments.
Qualifications and skills
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or Medical Imaging or Diploma in Radiography with 5 years’ experience.
• Certification: Licensure or certification to practice as a radiographer in India is necessary.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting required.
• Skills: Must have strong technical skills with diagnostic equipment, knowledge of radiation safety, good communication and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
• Problem-solving: The ability to handle a dynamic and sometimes high-pressure environment, such as conducting X-rays in community during health camps.
