Through career guidance, we regularly receive information about various courses. This month, we learned about Hotel Management through an exposure visit. I discovered that hotel management involves a completely different style of education, which can help us build a career in the hospitality sector. I had no prior knowledge about this field, but now I understand the different courses available and the career opportunities in this domain.
For the past six months, I have been continuously learning computer skills. During this time, I gained knowledge about MS Office and the Internet. Among all the topics, I found MS Word the most useful, as I learned how to create ID cards, resumes, and official documents—skills that will benefit me in the future.
Through the SEL session on self-confidence, I learned how we can develop confidence in ourselves. During an activity, we had to appreciate each other’s qualities. This helped me realize my own strengths, even though I am usually very quiet. I now understand that it is important to express ourselves and actively participate in everything. This was my first SEL session, and it was an eye-opening experience.
This is the 1st time that we got this opportunity to attend session on Legal Literacy. It was an eye opener, also so relevant for us. It will be good if these sessions can be organised at regular intervals other than only academic’s based.
One of the key takeaways of mine from the session is that we should remain cautious of posting our picture on social media or also taking it from the phone. Because even if you delete it, it will remain at the backend of the memory, which can be misused by any unknown person”.
I enjoyed the activity, Chinese Whisper so much and I am amused to see that the learning sessions can also be playful and interesting, moving away from rote or classroom lecture based.
