Quality and Holistic Education

Our work in the education sector is focused on providing quality education (including Early Childhood Care and Education) to all children, particularly girls. This includes enhancing pedagogical skills of all teachers. Simultaneously, School Management Committees will be strengthened to support schools in delivering quality learning outcomes among children. As a result, all children would achieve age and grade appropriate learning outcomes with a higher rate of transition between critical grades.

Objective:

Promote quality education and learning for children in pre-primary to secondary levels in Early Childhood Care and Education/Anganwadi Centres and schools directly benefiting 1,000,000 girls; along with 5,000,000 girls indirectly benefited through influencing government policy and practice.

Employability and Economic Empowerment

Plan India's employability and economic empowerment initiatives aim to increase the income level of families through three-pronged approaches namely Community Managed Micro Finance (CMMF), Job Oriented Vocational Training (JOVT) and Vocational Training for Enterprise Promotion (VTEP) for youth, with special focus on young women. We will also influence key duty bearers to provide services to foster pre-vocational skills at educational institutions with alignment to the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF).

Objective:

Improved youth economic empowerment and financial inclusion that directly benefits 100,000 young women (18-24 years) along with 1,000,000 girls and young women indirectly benefited through influencing government policy and practice.

Child Protection

Plan India's work in child protection will aim towards strengthening the reporting and responding mechanism, which will be complemented by the participation of children, families, communities, government officials and other relevant stakeholders. This will contribute to reducing abuse/neglect/exploitation and violence against children, especially girls.

Objective:

Increased protection from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence for 1,000,000 girls from vulnerable and excluded communities along with 10,000,000 girls indirectly benefited through influencing government policy and practice.
