Optimal Health:

Children have the right to life – therefore Plan works with its NGO partners and communities to reduce child and infant mortality and morbidity. Plan recognises that the first years of life are the most critical for development. If a child has not received sufficient nutrition and health care her/his growth and development is affected. In India, according to NHFS-3 data ……… children under the age of five die each year due to curable illnesses. Also, maternal mortality rate continues to be high at ……... by international standards. Therefore, Plan will prioritise its work on:

  • Ensuring the survival and healthy development of all children, particularly those in     poverty and from marginalised families.

  • Ensuring access to government sponsored primary health care including     immunization and essential medicines and commodities.

  • Improving community awareness and access to reproductive health services.
Securing high quality maternal health services.

  • Providing knowledge and information on healthy lifestyles and parenting skills for     youth.

  • Reducing children’s vulnerability to be infected with and affected by HIV and AIDS.

  •
