Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire filmmakers announce £500,000 to Plan India to improve children's lives in Mumbai slums. This donation will support Plan's program in a slum community located in central Mumbai. The program focuses on early childhood care, education, health, water & sanitation and child protection. Through this support Plan hopes to reach directly to 2,000 families and 5,000 children.

Plan India is a Child-Centred Development organisation that aims to promote Child Rights and improve the quality of life of vulnerable children. Plan works in 11 states in India and has directly impacted lives of over a million children and their families since 1979.

Plan India is a part of Plan International, founded in 1937 after the Spanish Civil War and currently works in 68 countries.
